One of the things that I love to do the most is just take a drive. When I was younger, almost every weekend, my mom, my sister Chrissy and I would get in the car with no certain destination. We would drive around, looking at the foliage if it was fall, we'd have picnics if it was warm enough, go swimming, find a new restaurant to eat at, etc. We'd drive through Old Lyme, Haddem, Essex, Waterford, Chester, Old Saybrook, Niantic, Woodstock, Cantebury, Putnam and many more places. We went so often, we started calling them "old lady drives". I'm not sure exactly why, so before making this photo album, I called my mom and asked her and she said "because that's what old ladies do!". Even though my sister and I aren't old ladies, thats our answer. It's sort of a tradition, but my sister moved to Georgia and my mom and I have conflicting schedules a lot of the time, so we don't get to go together that often. I have, however, dragged Ryan into our tradition (he's offended by the name because he's "not old or a women"), but he humors me and goes along anyway. (I think he secretly enjoys the rides). And if Ryan is at work, and I have no one to go with, I'll just go by myself and enjoy the quiet time. I've made a hobby of taking pictures everywhere I go, so the pictures from our old lady drives are on my website for your viewing pleasure!
